Book your flights to Davao City today through Philippine Airlines for the best deals.
Davao’s Historic Site
One of Davao’s historic sites includes the San Pedro Metropolitan Cathedral. The coliseum-like cathedral was built in 1847, with several renovations since, it sits along what is believed to be the oldest street in Davao — San Pedro Street.
Shopping in Davao
Davao hosts many shopping experiences, from the Gaisano Mall of Davao to the SM Lanang. Head down to Marfori, one of the city’s oldest food districts, to sample the local gastronomy!
Day Trips
Samal Island is just 49 km from the city. The island is full of unbelievable and picturesque tropical scenery, such as breathtaking beaches and never-ending palm trees, with enough activities to keep you busy all day. Why not check out the bat sanctuary or one of their many beaches? From Davao City, take a jeepney towards the coast and catch a boat to the island.
Davaoeño Forest
Enjoy nature at the Ali-Davao Carbon Forest while supporting and celebrating the project’s contributions to wildlife preservation. The team is passionate about restoring forests and creating a safe place for visitors. The 133 acres of land are so well protected that nature can thrive without minimizing your experience.
Historic Monument
The Commemorative Monument of Peace and Unity is a landmark in Davao City with a fascinating history. The monument celebrates over 100 years of peace and coexistence with the city’s indigenous population. It sits just outside of San Pedro Metropolitan Cathedral.
City Dining
Some of Davao’s great traditional dishes include bulalo (beef soup), crispy pata (deep-fried pork), and, for a sweet dessert, durian-langka turon (deep-fried jackfruit).
Davao’s Events
Kadayawan Festival is an annual event celebrating all things Davao every August. From the city’s culture to their way of living, the people of Davao celebrate their city with a vibrant parade. There are plenty of celebrations to enjoy, such as floral float parades and street dancing.
Climate
Davao is considered to have a tropical rainforest climate, where the weather sits between 20°C – 30°C, even during the winter months.
